Availability & Time Off

Collect employee availability and manage time-off requests in one place.

Opyris brings employee availability, time-off requests, and manager approvals into a single workflow. Approved information feeds directly into automatic scheduling—so the schedule runs on current, accurate data, not last week's spreadsheet.

Availability that actually reaches the schedule.

Collecting availability in a spreadsheet or form means re-entering it for every schedule. In Opyris, employees submit availability through the app or web, managers approve it once, and the automatic scheduler uses it every time it runs.

AVAILABILITY MANAGEMENT

Employee availability lives in the scheduler—not a separate form.

Employees submit their available hours through the Opyris Mobile Ready experience or web browser. Managers review and approve once. When the automatic scheduler runs, approved availability is used to fill shifts—no manual lookup, no re-entry each week.

Time-off requests without the back-and-forth.

01

Employee submits a time-off request

Through the Opyris Mobile Ready experience or web browser. The request includes dates, reason, and any notes. No paper forms. No emailing.

02

Manager sees it in the task queue

Time-off requests appear alongside other pending items. The manager can see who is requesting, what dates are affected, and whether coverage is at risk.

03

Manager approves or denies

One decision from the task queue. The employee is notified. Approved time off is immediately reflected in the system.

04

The scheduler uses approved time off

When the automatic scheduler runs, approved time off is respected. The employee is not scheduled for those dates. Open shifts are created if coverage is needed.

Availability and time-off questions.

Ask the founder →
Can employees update their availability themselves?

Yes. Employees submit availability updates through the Opyris app or web. Updates are not applied until a manager approves them.

Does approved time off automatically prevent scheduling on those dates?

Yes. Once a manager approves a time-off request, the employee is excluded from automatic scheduling for those dates.

Can managers enter availability on behalf of employees?

Yes. Managers can update availability records directly in the manager workspace, in addition to reviewing and approving employee-submitted requests.

Is there a limit to how far in advance employees can request time off?

No. Employees can submit requests as far in advance as needed. Requests remain pending until a manager approves or denies them.

Availability management

Availability collected once. Used every schedule.

Stop re-checking availability before every schedule. Employees submit it once, managers approve it, and Opyris uses it automatically.
